Terms of Service
The terms under which you may use Citeable.
Last updated: 2026-05-11
1. Agreement
By creating an account at app.citeable.de or otherwise using the Citeable service (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service.
Citeable is currently operated in a friendly-pilot phase. Pilot testers receive access free of charge under individually agreed pilot terms, which take precedence over these Terms where they conflict.
2. The service
Citeable is a Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) platform that tracks AI-search visibility, generates platform-specific content drafts, and lets you publish those drafts to platforms you connect (e.g. LinkedIn, Reddit, WordPress) after explicit approval.
The Service uses third-party APIs and large language models. Output quality and platform availability can vary; nothing in the Service should be relied on as professional, legal, or financial advice.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Notify us at cedric@citeable.de if you suspect unauthorised access.
You must be at least 18 years old and use the Service in a commercial capacity (e.g. on behalf of a brand, agency, or your own business).
4. Your content
You retain all rights to the brand data, draft inputs, and final published content that you create or upload to Citeable. You grant Citeable a limited licence to process this content solely to provide the Service to you.
AI-generated drafts are produced on your request. You decide whether a draft is published, and where. You are responsible for the content you publish via the Service, including ensuring it complies with the terms of the destination platform (LinkedIn, Reddit, WordPress, etc.).
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Send spam, run automated mass posting, or otherwise abuse third-party platforms.
- Impersonate another person or brand without authorisation.
- Generate or publish content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, infringes intellectual property, or violates the policies of the destination platform.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or circumvent rate limits, security measures, or access controls.
- Resell or sublicense the Service without our written consent.
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe the Service is being used in violation of these terms, of the law, or of a connected platform's terms.
6. Third-party platforms
When you connect a third-party account (LinkedIn, Reddit, WordPress, etc.) you authorise Citeable to call those platforms on your behalf within the scope you approve in their OAuth screens. Use of those platforms is subject to their own terms. Citeable is not responsible for outages, policy changes, or account actions taken by those platforms.
7. Fees
During the friendly-pilot phase, the Service is provided free of charge. Paid plans will be introduced after the pilot; pricing and terms will be communicated to you in advance, and you will have the option to discontinue use rather than accept new paid terms.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Citeable does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that AI-generated output will meet any particular standard.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Citeable's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid to Citeable in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) €100. Citeable is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Mandatory statutory liability (e.g. for intent or gross negligence under German law) remains unaffected.
10. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your account settings or by emailing cedric@citeable.de. We may suspend or terminate the Service or your account, with notice where reasonable, including in cases of misuse, non-payment, or if we decide to stop providing the Service.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active users by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected. The place of jurisdiction for disputes with merchants, legal persons under public law, or special funds under public law is the registered seat of the data controller as listed in our Privacy Policy.
